Today, we celebrate the incredible journey of Meri, a beacon of inspiration and resilience. For 40 years, Meri has been an integral part of COF Training Services, transforming challenges into triumphs and showcasing the immense impact of determination and support.
Meri's story began as an IDD waiver recipient, but her dedication and hard work allowed her to invest significantly in building skills for independent living. With perseverance, she transitioned to living in a community apartment and explored various community-based jobs. From piece rate contracts to roles at Integrated Employment Enterprises, the local daycare, and the auditorium, Meri has faced every challenge with unwavering determination.
Her most fulfilling role emerged as a Direct Support Professional/Job Coach. Meri finds deep satisfaction in this position as she supports others on their journeys. Drawing from her own experiences, she can relate to the individuals she assists, understanding their challenges intimately. Meri takes immense pride in knowing she makes a difference every day, making her current job the fulfillment of a dream.
Meri's story exemplifies the transformative power of inclusive employment opportunities. It highlights the significance of recognizing abilities beyond disabilities and creating environments where individuals like Meri can thrive.
