Azura Debit card

OTTAWA – This month, Azura added a new beneficiary to their Community Impact Card program, COF Training Services. Each time Azura members make a purchase using their COF Visa debit card, the credit union donates five cents to the organization. COF and Azura are excited to share the look of the new debit card and to begin circulating them into use. Since opening their doors at 124 E 19th Street in January 2025, Azura has been looking to add more non-profits and schools to the program, so that local members could support their neighbors.

“Being chosen as an Azura Credit Union Community Impact Card partner means so much to COF. It is more than financial support—it is an opportunity to bring greater awareness to the individuals we serve and the importance of creating an inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity to live, work, participate, and belong,” said Joy Beatty, Community Relations Manager – COF Training Services. “We are incredibly grateful to Azura for believing in our mission and for creating a simple way for everyday purchases to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

Established in 2010, Azura’s Community Impact program began with just one unique debit card supporting TARC. Since then, it has grown to 10 card designs and beneficiaries, including: Boys and Girls Club, Supporting Kids Foundation, Harvesters, Honor Flight and Friends in Service of Heroes, USD 450, and more. In 2025 alone, the program raised $122,570, and to date, Azura has donated over $1 million to the participating organizations.

“Being part of the Ottawa community means finding meaningful ways to give back,” said Haley Callaghan, Ottawa Retail Manager – Azura Credit Union. “I’m very excited about our new COF card because it allows our members to make a difference simply by doing something they already do every day. Every swipe adds up and, together, those swipes can make a tremendous impact for COF and the individuals they serve. I am proud to be part of an organization that turns everyday banking into an opportunity to make a difference in our community.”

“We love seeing our members embrace the Community Impact Card program. It gives them a voice in choosing how their community-owned credit union gives back,” said Katie Beach, Community Relationship Manager – Azura Credit Union. “In 2010, we started with less than 500 members participating in the program. Today, there are nearly 12,500 members actively raising funds for their charities of choice simply by swiping their Azura debit cards. We look forward to continuing to grow this program and our partnerships.”

The COF Training Services card is available now at all Azura branches. Community Impact Cards are an option with all Azura checking accounts and there is no fee to replace a standard debit card with a Community Impact Card.* For more information, contact Valerie Taylor, VP – Marketing, Azura Credit Union.
