 Guidelines
Workshop Schedule
The Workshops and offices are open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday. Two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch
break are provided daily. Individuals are expected to provide their
own lunch. Vending machines are available in the break room for purchase
of drinks.
Dress Code

Persons participating in the workshop should dress in casual clothing suitable to the work performed. In addition to clean and neat clothing, each person is expected to maintain his or her personal hygiene and grooming. Watches and rings are acceptable, however dangling jewelry should be avoided. Leather and canvas shoes are considered appropriate footwear. Sandals are not to be worn while at work.
Production Income
Individuals working in the workshop are paid either hourly or by
a piece rate, depending on the job assignment. Paychecks are issued
for the prior month on the third (3rd) working day of the next month.
Personal Belongings
Each individual is encouraged to decorate his or her living space with personal items. However, consumers utilizing the workshop services are discouraged from bringing unnecessary personal belongings to work.
Safety Regulations
Safety regulations are posted in each area of the workshop. These guidelines are designed for everyone's protection. Each person will receive an orientation on safety procedures and will be expected to follow them at all times. Any safety hazards noted in either the workshop or residential site should be reported to the supervisor or manager at once. Because of the nature of the work, the use of tobacco products, beverage, food items, gum or candy are permitted in only designated areas. Agency-owned and operated properties are smoke free environments. The workshop and each agency-maintained residential site will conduct monthly emergency drills. Evacuation plans are posted at each agency site.
Visitor / Telephone Use
A realistic work setting does not include visitors or phone calls during regular hours unless they are of an emergency nature or prior arrangements have been made. Phone calls may be made or received during breaks.
Consumers will coordinate personal visitors in their homes according to their schedules. Individuals residing in a Group Home will be responsible for the cost of personal long-distance telephone calls. Individuals residing in agency-owned apartments or supported living homes will be responsible for their own telephone charges.
